One of the oldest automobile brands in the world, Cadillac is a luxury division of the large American auto manufacturer General Motors. The history of the company goes as far back as 1902. It was formed from what remained of the Henry Ford Company. The car maker was named after sieur de Cadillac - the nobleman, who founded Detroit. General Motors bought the company in seven years, and by that moment Cadillac was already famous as an incredibly successful luxury car manufacturer. Its engineers created three engines, one of which (V8) set a standard in the world car industry.
